Adam Lambert is a singer, songwriter and actor from California. He is considered to be the first openly gay mainstream pop artist on the major label in the USA. He became popular after his participation in the "American Idol" (a reality TV competition). In the eighth season he won the show - his talent was admitted by the audience. During the final episode Adam sang "Beth", "Rock and Roll All Nite" and "Detroit Rock City" with the rock band "Kiss". Adam's version of the winning single "No Boundaries" (performed by Kris Allen) was released on iTunes.
His debut album "For Your Entertainment" was released in 2009. In a month the album became number three of the Billboard 200. During the first week it was sold 198,000 album copies.
It can be easily recognized the influence of other pop and rock stars on the Lambert's music: Queen, Madonna, David Bowie, Michael Jackson, Led Zeppelin and Aerosmith. For example, when Adam performed the Queen's anthem "We Are the Champions" he collaborated with Brian May (the original guitarist of "Queen") and Roger Taylor (the original Queen's drummer).
He took part in the "Michael Jackson week" and sang "Black or White" and "Ring of Fire". Lambert was pleased with a standing ovation of the mentor of the week - Smokey Robinson. Definitely, tears and standing ovation are the best critique. Adam shows perfect performances which at once become memorable. The San Diego mayor Jerry Sanders proclaimed the 8th of May the day of Adam Lambert.
